7 gamers 1 cpu follow up

For people saying "$30,000 is way too much for 7 people", well, there is another solution!

You don't necessarily need one GPU per person.  You can do just fine with just a few GPUs

You can run a program called "SoftXpand" to create different workstations for multiple people.

This build will run CS:GO across the 7 people at 100fps each.

THIS INCLUDES THE MONITORS AS WELL

You can pick up a few keyboard/mice combos for $25, this CM STORM DEVASTATOR combos are pretty good quality, and will work for this build.  In total, to have 7 PC gamers play at once, it costs approximately $3,500, almost 1/10 of the price of Linus's build.

With this build comes issues though.  It is a pain in the butt to set this up

The 7 gamers 1 CPU project

Of all of my years that I have been PC gaming, this is one of my favorite things that I have seen ever.

Even though it is $30,000, you can play games in 1440p ABOVE 60 FPS!!!  Even at full load, this PC still performs great.

This does not only apply to games though, this can apply to video editing, as well as other graphically intensive tasks.

Let's see any console pull this off

Nice PC for around $400, aww yeah.

With this, you can play most modern games in 1080p, this is fantastic considering most console games usually don't go above 900p. While an XB1 is selling around the same price, but also keep in mind the advantages you have when you have a pc build. It would also cost a lot less in the long run due to upgrading and not having to pay for a subscription.

Linus show some benchmarks of this card, Bioshock infinite runs 1080p ultra at 70 fps

Electric Boogaloo

Woah, what's that? Just Cause 2 for $4, While it's $20 on ps3? hmmm, Hmmmm, HMMMMMMMMMMM!!! store.steampowered.com/app/8190/

Have friends with different controller preferences?  Well, you can't have an Xbox controller on a PS4 and vice versa without buying a converter, and those converters are pretty expensive.  Well, on pc, you have unlimited controller options thanks to free software, My 3-player Rocket League setup consists of 3 monitors at 1080p, an Xbox One controller, a PS3 controller, and a Gamecube controller, can you have that on a console, yeah, didn't think so.

You would need to buy one of these for each controller if you were using a console, sheesh.

Linus here discusses the pros and cons of PCs and Consoles, in the end PC is far superior, but consoles are good for casual players who just want to sit down, play for an hour, and be done.  PCs are for people who are fans of gaming in general, and want a better experience at the expense of a little bit more time to set it up.

Console Advantages

But the apposing viewpoint is a console player
(These consoles cost about $500 on launch)

1. Consoles have easier setup, you can plug it in and use it right away

2. You don't need to run your own servers and maintenance, as with PC, you are sometimes stuck with fiddling with command lines trying to set up multiplayer games with their friends

3. Better UI and easier setup in general, you can put in a game and play it, with PC, you have to download the Steam client and wait to download the game (But you don't need a disk)

PC Advantages part 2

3.Cheaper games/Lots of games/Exclusives, The PC gaming application "Steam" has over 5,000 games on its store, this is including of course, the Call of Duty series, Left 4 Dead, Half-Life series, PAYDAY 2, and the most popular game, DOTA 2, which is a free game, also, Steam has many sales in addition to Free to Play games like DOTA 2 and Team Fortress 2, for example, I bought Skyrim for $9.99, where can you find a deal like that? Only on Steam.
4. Modding support, yes I know that you can have SOME mods on SOME console games, but PC games can be modded to the point that it's an entirely different game, G-MOD is a popular mod for Half-Life 2 which, get this, supports mods within the mod, and all of these mods are on the Steam workshop and there are many contributors.

5. You can use it for more than games, you can use it to do schoolwork and regular work making is a multipurpose tool.
